Cannasupplies offers many stock packaging formats made of Post Consumer Resin (PCR). PCR is the recycled product of discarded packaging, such as plastic water bottles, clamshells, etc. Plastic materials are gathered and sent through a proprietary process to produce plastic resin pellets. These pellets are then reused in the manufacturing process to create jars and bottles, etc.
It's obvious a lot of cannabis packaging is made of plastic, which is often associated with having a negative impact on the environment. I created this display booth to shed new light on the creation of our PCR jars. The booth educates customers on how they can continue to use plastic and become environmentally conscious. Customers are welcome to recycle their used water bottles in the display, which eventually will become PCR jars and bottles. The display is made from recycled carton boxes, playing off of the 'recycled solutions' concept.
Other facts: Utilizing PCR has the potential to keep billions of tons of plastic out of landfills. Reusing resin as PCR does not require further depletion of new fossil fuels. Post-consumer plastics such as PP, PET and HDPE PCR have already been processed from a fossil fuel to plastic. Additionally, utilizing PCR has the potential to reduce greenhouse emissions by nearly 60%.
